Sarah Stranks is a health and safety professional with broad experience and knowledge. Starting her health and safety career as a HM Inspector of Health and Safety with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Sarah has in depth experience of H&S legislation and enforcement practices.

​

Within private industry Sarah has worked directly within Tier 1 construction (housebuilding and commercial) and environmental consultancy services, providing H,S&E competent advice and bespoke training packages.

​

As an independent consultant Sarah regularly works with a range of clients.  These include: Local Authorities, environmental consultants, data cabling specialists, plumbers/gas safe engineers, property maintenance, building surveyors, landscapers, arboriculture / tree surgeons, site clearance and haulage specialists, shop fitters, construction companies and circus performers & trainers.

Sarah is also a qualified acoustic consultant with practical experience of both building and environmental acoustics. 

​

Sarah is also engaged by NEBOSH as a 'Subject Matter Expert' on the National and International Diploma's for OHS Management Professionals. Additionally, Sarah is currently a series editor on a number of the NEBOSH International Diploma course book subtopics.

Furthermore, Sarah is engaged by Hastam to provide Health and Safety Expert Witness services in criminal and civil court cases.

Additionally, Sarah is also an Academic Tutor on the University of Strathclyde's Safety and Risk Management Postgraduate Programme (PgCert/PgDip/MSc) and by the IOSH Academy as an Academic Tutor for their Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety.

• MSc Environmental Science (Birkbeck College, University of London)

• Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control (Institute of Acoustics)

• PGDip in Regulatory Occupational Health and Safety (University of Warwick)

• Award in Education and Training (Level 3)

• Foundation Certificate in Industrial Accident Investigation and Analysis (IIAI)

• CertIOSH status - certified member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

• MIIRSM status - member of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM) 

• AMIIAI status - associate member of the Institute of Industrial Investigators (IIAI)
